Learn to sail in Turkey

Take the sailing course you've always promised yourself in the warm waters of the  Mediterranean

For the complete beginner “Learning the Ropes”

The Competent Crew course, is the first rung of the ladder. It is for the absolute beginner to learn the basics & to enjoy the delights of sailing a cruising yacht. It is also an ideal stepping stone for dinghy sailors to try yachting & for those who have already done some crewing but wish to learn the right way! You will be taught the fundamentals of crewing such as knots, nautical terms, sail handling and helming as well as how to ‘live’ in the environment of a cruising yacht. Safety is paramount in all courses & you will learn to operate flares, lifejackets, safety harnesses, liferafts, assist in the recovery of a man overboard, & participate in at least one evening/night sail. Typically, the days will be spent sailing from bay to bay getting accustomed to your boat, whilst enjoying the warm sun & clear waters of the Mediterranean & the freedom that a yachting holiday provides.

For those who have previously crewed the Day Skipper Course

Experience required:
A knowledge of basic navigation and sailing ability-comp crew or above.

Skippering a yacht for the first time can be a daunting yet exhilarating experience. This course is designed to teach you how to ‘take charge’ safely & confidently. A skipper does much more than navigate. He/she is responsible for the complete safety & well being of the yacht & crew. These responsibilities include weather forecasting, engine maintenance, sail selection and handling, passage planning, navigation & pilotage. At the end of the course you should be confident to skipper a cruising yacht on short passages by day.
