Take the sailing course you've always promised yourself in the Mediterranean
For the complete beginner “Learning the Ropes”
The Competent Crew course, is the first rung of the ladder. It is for the absolute beginner to learn the basics and to enjoy the delights of sailing a cruising yacht. It is also an ideal stepping stone for dinghy sailors to try yachting and for those who have already done some crewing but wish to learn the right way! You will be taught the fundamentals of crewing such as knots, nautical terms, sail handling and helming as well as how to ‘live’ in the environment of a cruising yacht. Safety is paramount in all courses and you will learn to operate flares, lifejackets, safety harnesses, liferafts, assist in the recovery of a man overboard, and participate in at least one evening/night sail. Typically, the days will be spent sailing from bay to bay getting accustomed to your boat, whilst enjoying the warm sun and clear waters of the Mediterranean and the freedom that a yachting holiday provides.
For those individuals who have previously crewed
