| What experience do I need? |
For flotilla sailing, on the smaller yachts up to 32ft, it is sufficient to have two people who are good competent dinghy sailors , have sail on the sea ,can reef sails and have an understanding of inshore navigation i.e., use of a hand bearing compass and basic chart work plus use of a VHF.
For the larger yachts, the skipper must have previous experience in charge of a cruising yacht of a similar size and/or a basic qualification of Day Skipper ( practical certificate).plus basic use of a VHF.
For Bareboat charter previous skippering experience is necessary, or an RYA Day or Coastal Skipper qualification or ICC equivalent is required. In addition, at least one other crew member should be a competent sailor, who ideally has sailed with the skipper before.

ITINERARIES In the case of flotilla holidays, our staff are responsible for the safe conduct of the cruise. They may vary the itinerary if, in their opinion, conditions demand it; for example, port facilities en route, weather, overcrowding, victualling etc. The typical itineraries shown in this brochure are fair examples of the cruises that will be run.
WATER SPORTS Where water sports are indicated as being available within the resorts, bays and harbours featured in our brochure or by our staff, it is not intended that this should be taken as a recommendation to take part. Setsail neither owns or operates these facilities and cannot provide assurances that they are maintained or operated with customer’s safety in mind. Some water sports may also be considered to be 'hazardous pursuits' by insurance companies.
