Northern Sporades
FLIGHTS FROM UK AND DUBLIN TO SKIATHOS ON FRIDAYS
Explore the natural beauty and ancient mysteries of the Sporades, a small chain of Islands hugging the northeast coast of Greece. From Skiathos, a paradise of pine and olive groves, sail to the northern end of Alonissos and lounge on the best beaches in the Aegean. At night check out Steni Vala where the party is always in full swing. Continuing north to Pelagos this tiny island is home to a wildlife sanctuary that serves as a habitat for seals. There are also plenty of caves to explore as well as a famous monastery. A long open sail to the southeast takes you to Skiros, an island crowned by an ancient Acropolis, the return sail west will take you Skantzoura, Skopelos and the bay of Platania before you arriving back in Skiathos town.

Cyclades and Eastern Peloponnese The Peloponnese coast and its islands to the West, and the Cyclades Islands to the South east remain unspoilt, most being within a short and easy sailing distance of each other. The port of Lavrion is just 35 minutes from the new Athens airport. From here make your first stop Kea - just 16 nautical miles before you arrive at this craggy green island with its large, accessible harbour. From here the islands of Siros, Kithnos and the rest of the Cyclades invite you to explore. Alternatively, sail from Kalamaki Marina to Aegina, west of Kea with its two popular harbours Perdika and Aegina Town. Opposite, on the main Peloponnese coast lies Epidavros with its spectacular amphitheatre. Sail round the coast to Poros before going on to Ermioni; stop at Hydra - famous for its artisan culture. On a two week charter you could also visit the island of Spetses with its many horsedrawn carriages and the mainland ports of Astros, Plaka, Navplion and Porto Heli before returning to either Lavrion or Kalamaki.

Ionian - Corfu and Levkas Corfu is an emerald isle full of contrasts. Mountains and valleys form a jagged coastline, concealing secluded bays just waiting to be discovered. From Gouvia Marina, just north of the vibrant town of Corfu, enjoy a reach across to the picturesque harbours of Agni, Ayios Stephanos and Kalami or anchor over night in the bay at Kassiopi on the northern coast of Corfu with its numerous anchorages. Sailing south, stop off at Igoumenitsa Creek before arriving at the sleepy harbour of Mourtos, sheltered behind the lush green island of Sivota. The islands of Paxos and Anti Paxos will be on most cruising plans, but don’t miss the caves on the western side of Anti Paxos.

Sailing a two week cruise, you will probably venture south through the Levkas Canal to the Southern Ionian Islands; Levkas with its busy waterfront town, Meganisi Island with its forgotten hill top village of Spartakhori, and then on to Kioni on Ithaca, or perhaps visit the colourful port of Fiskardo perched on the tip of Cephalonia.
