| Majorca |
The Balearic Islands are one of the most accessible destinations of the Mediterranean offering idyllic, early and late season sailing. The beautiful island of Majorca has an exciting mix of golden beaches, secret coves and picture postcard harbours.
A one week itinerary could include the ports on the south eastern
coast from Cala Ratjada to the island of Cabrera. Two week charters
can either sail southwest to Ibiza and Formentera or northeast up to Minorca.
Eating Out - Dine out on Tapas, the Spanish mezzes. The endless choice includes Calamari, Chorizo - a delicious spicy sausage, marinated olives, freshly grilled sardines, stuffed tomatoes and aubergine salad all washed down with Sangria - not bad for a starter - it could be a complete meal!
Currency - Euro (A beer costs £2 and a two course meal £15).
Charters commence on Saturdays from Palma de Mallorca.
Weather Conditions
Generally, the east coast has north-westerly breezes of force 3-4. On the west coast the wind blows from the south-east force 2-3. Expect on-shore breezes on the northern coast while in the south the wind tends to funnel into the larger bays. The stronger, north-westerly Mistral in August can last for 2-3 days.
