Experience a more gentle pace of life sailing through the islands of the Dalmatian Coast. Explore the wonderful mix of deserted bays, tiny villages, and medieval towns with their castles and Byzantine palaces, reflecting the coast’s great trading history. Visit the fortified towns of Hvar, Trogir, Korcula and Dubrovnik, full of character with small stone churches and red tiled houses tucked between the narrow cobbled streets.

Eating Out - Each town provides a good selection of restaurants. Menus are mainly European, with a choice of local dishes offered including Prsut - Croatian cured ham, minestra - a rich vegetable and pasta soup and Cevapcici - spicy minced meat sausages. Grilled meat and fish are readily available together with pasta dishes and pizzas. Sample the excellent shellfish at the local restaurants which make it their speciality and try their delicious ice creams, the best outside Italy! all washed down by the wonderful local wine.

Currency - KUNA can be ordered from most UK banks. Cash can be exchanged for Kuna and banks will accept credit cards). A beer costs £1 and an average meal £12-£18.

Weather Conditions

The north westerly Maestral normally blows force 2 to 4 throughout the summer season from mid morning until late afternoon. From time to time the north westerly winds can become mixed with more Northerly Bora winds which are often stronger on the mainland coast.
