Eating Out - Each harbour boasts numerous cafes and tavernas offering a range of fresh, simply cooked food. Appetisers such as Tzatziki, Taramasalata and, of course, Greek salads are readily available - when ordering Kalamari be sure to ask whether they are fresh or frozen! Main dishes include Souvlaki - pork or beef grilled over charcoal; Stifado - a tasty beef stew; traditional pork, chicken or beef kebabs as well as the usual steaks, pasta, pizzas and chips (with everything!). For those who enjoy vegetarian food stuffed peppers and tomatoes are amongst the delicious alternatives. Currency - Euro (A beer costs £2.00 and a two course meal £12-£16) Weather conditions: During Spring and Summer in the Sporades the wind is predominantly from the North, with the Meltemi wind blowing at its strongest (typically F4-6) during July and August.
